One of the reasons that the Horsham District is so desirable for business and residents is its location, mid-way between London and Brighton at the heart of the Gatwick Diamond, the economic centre of Sussex and Surrey. This unique location provides excellent communication links to the rest of the UK, Europe and beyond, whether travelling by road, air, sea or rail.


Road
Fast motorway access via the M23 links Horsham District with the M25 Orbital and the UK national road network, whilst in the south of the District the A27 coast road provides access east to East Sussex and Kent and west to Hampshire and beyond. The A24 dual carriageway runs through the middle of the District.

Major ports and ferry terminals


Rail Services
The Channel Tunnel -78 miles - provides the only fixed link between the UK and Continental Europe with easy access to mainland Europe for passengers, cars and freight.  Eurotunnel manages the Channel Tunnel infrastructure and its own vehicle shuttle – le shuttle between Folkestone and Calais with a journey time of 35 minutes.   

Eurostar provides a fast passenger service to Brussels and France with links to over 100 destinations across Europe and can be accessed via St Pancras International, Ebbsfleet International or Ashford International stations.   

Southern is the operator providing rail services to Central London, Sussex, Surrey, Kent and the South Coast. The Arun Valley route, which runs throughout the Horsham District provides a regular service to Gatwick Airport, London Victoria and London Bridge, Portsmouth and Southampton.  London is a 56 minute journey by train.


Bus Services
Compass, Metro Bus, Arriva and Stagecoach provide regular services throughout the Horsham District and beyond.
