Working with partners

Partnerships form the basis of many successful business ventures. Horsham District Council works with many organisations to ensure the best for the area’s economy, its people and businesses. We are always looking to work with more partners that share a collective goal; making Horsham District a first class destination.  Some of the main partnerships are listed below.

Coast to Capital

Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is one of the 39 LEPs established by the government in 2011 – a business-led collaboration between the private, public and education sectors that aims to increase productivity and generate sustainable and inclusive growth. Visit the C2C website to find out more about how it can help your business, including the Business Navigator web portal and the FSE Funding Escalator Fund.

The Gatwick Diamond Initiative

The Gatwick Diamond Initiative (GDI) is a business-led partnership, focussing on key strategic issues, in partnership with business leaders, business membership organisations, colleges and universities, local authorities, and government agencies to ensure it is a world-class place to live, work and do business. The GDI aims to grow the region’s existing jobs base, attract new jobs and secure investments from companies that most closely match our industry strengths.

Rural West Sussex Partnership

The Rural West Sussex Partnership aims to bring together the key organisations that develop strategy and policy in West Sussex to ensure the best use of resources across the County to deliver projects and services in rural areas and to monitor the delivery of the Local Area Agreement (LAA) in rural areas.

Sustainable Business Partnership (SBP)

The SBP offers FREE support to businesses to help them adopt sustainable business practices, cut costs through improved waste minimisation, energy and water efficiency.

Sussex Chamber of Commerce

Sussex Chamber of Commerce is one of only 52 Chambers in the UK to be accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce. The Sussex Chamber of Commerce can provide critical business advice, service and skills development to members of the organisation.

Federation of Small Businesses

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) provide expert support to small businesses, with tailored services to meet the needs of their member organisations. The FSB represent the whole of the UK’s smaller business community and provide and effective network for smaller businesses across the country.

Other partnerships:

Horsham District Council continually strives to make the most of our partnerships and provide support to business. We work closely with our local authority partners on numerous projects designed to improve support for our residents, our businesses and local infrastructure. We have long-term existing partnerships with associations such as the Action in Rural Sussex and Gatwick Diamond Business. We also work with local partners, in particular our Parish Councils and Community Partnerships (Rural Towns Forum). To ensure our recently published Visitor Economy strategy and its actions are realised. Additionally, We have also set up a Visitor Economy Partnership.
