Local IT business goes from strength to strength

How one business is flourishing in the Horsham District.

Woodstock IT, a local computer repair and support company, have experienced steady growth over the last five years; resulting in their move to new and larger premises on 1st April 2016.

The company, founded in 2011 by Julian Shelley, has frequently exhibited at Horsham District Council's long running Microbiz event. During this time, the operation has gone from a home office to a trusted and successful business with a dynamic and talented team.

Shortly after the announcement, owner Julian stated: “We’re a well-established company in the local community and now have an even larger space to operate from. We plan to hire more IT personnel later in the year, so the move really is about planning for the future and developing further”.

Based in Horsham, the move sees the team relocate to larger premises, although still based on Holmbush Farm, Faygate. With plans for recruitment to commence in the next 12 months, this remains an ideal location near the M23 to attract new staff as they plan for future growth.

As Julian develops his team who offer managed IT services, hosting and computer repair, it’s understood roles may become more dedicated in the new split level office.

Woodstock IT have many local clients and work with small to medium sized businesses to assist with their IT solutions. The popularity of the business and its service highlights the quality of their approach and the fact that Sussex businesses are keen to improve their use of technology.

Speaking about Microbiz, Julian added: “Microbiz really helped us to launch our business and provided some excellent exposure in the early days of Woodstock IT.  We engaged with several other local businesses at the numerous events we exhibited at, many of whom we still work with to this day.”

As the company continues to expand, it’s likely local companies will become more informed about cloud services and servers, which are becoming more and more essential for companies with an online presence and big data usage.

For instance, part of the process with Woodstock IT is creating a solution for secure backups of data and data recovery systems. As part of a proactive approach, this reduces the risk of losing vital information.
