The high skills amongst Horsham’s residents means that many are able to access good quality jobs both within and outside the district.

New Food and Drink Portal for the South Downs area

A new local produce portal is being created by Natural Partnerships Community Interest Company (CIC) with the support of the South Downs National Park Authority and the Southern Co-operative.

The South Downs Food Portal is being created to give businesses FREE publicity and to promote the stunning food on offer in and around the South Downs National Park, including Horsham district. Food and drink producers and the outlets which sell and promote local fare can enjoy a free listing - register now at southdownsfood.org.

Hilary Knight, who co-directs Natural Partnerships CIC with Paula Seager, said

"southdownsfood.org will showcase the wonderful produce here and help support local businesses to work together to share and overcome their day-to-day challenges."

Trevor Beattie, Chief Executive of the South Downs National Park, said

"Helping people find and appreciate this wonderful produce will make sure these businesses benefit from being part of the South Downs National Park."

Gemma Lacey, Director of Sustainability for The Southern Co-operative, said

"As an independent regional retailer across southern England, it's vital that we play a pivotal role in supporting local food producers and a sustainable rural economy; this is very much part of our business ethos as a co-operative."
